Car Alarms: car alarm not working properly

my neighbors has a 98 Honda ex with factory alarm it started going off at home and couldn't be silenced until I removed horn relay under the hood what can we check and steps to reset system,he has key remote and alarm indicater light is in driver door next to the pull or push lock,any would be highly appreciated!! thank you Terry Philipp, New Bern N.C.

Have the battery replaced and check for any door damage, especially around the door locks.
Factory alarms from Honda depend on 5% power drain, like if a door opened.

It sounds like it's reacting to that, more over than malfunctioning all of
a sudden.

Try that before digging any deeper.
