Car Alarms: 2005 Matrix honking, lights flashing etc

Our 2005 Matrix started with random alarm beeping while I was inside and then driving home it started honking, clock racing, lights flashing so got off freeway and drove home with care.
Do not want to take it out again unless can disable such.
Plan to buy a new car soon so don't want to spend on fixing but would like to be able to get it somewhere for trade or donate.
Is there any way we can shut off this issue and still drive the car?
Any help will be appreciated.

Hmmmm, well it's Likely going to be factory if it's
the car's own horn honking.

However, if it's a siren and flashing lights,
it's after market.

So, ok, here's what I know...

Normally, putting the key in the drivers side door lock,
turning to the left, then to the right all the way
will unlock and disarm/reset the "OEM factory"
alarm system.

Unfortunately, that's the extent of what I can or should
share openly here at ALLXPERTS.com :>( .

(Actually, it's also legally prescribed for me not to.)

Obviously, posting this sort of sensitive information
for all to see and implement is not a good idea.
