Car Alarms: No power to 96 civic(alarm kill switch I think), power locks, kill switch

QUESTION: Please help I know it is something dumb. BACKGROUND:Here it goes I own a 96 honda civic dx. No power locks or windows. This car has been maintained meticulously and has never been worked on by anyone but a mechanic. It is stock nothing has ever been changed not even the radio. My alarm can only be disabled by remote not even by key. You can't even start car with key until you reset alarm with remote. PROBLEM: my car has always run fine some problems per usual always fixed. I was moving from oregon to MA and had the car shipped on car carrier. The journey set of my alarm repeatedly until battery was dead. When car arrived in boston we used jump box started car no issues drove 100 ft into driveway and shut off. Car sat for a month and as I suspected when I tried to start not enough juice to start but alarm goes crazy that's normal. I expected that. Jumped car and Drove car out of driveway and shut off as I was having it towed to a storage site. Took car off tow truck when we arrived and started and drove 50 feet then shut off. It has sat in the cold for a few months then when I returned to start And let run I got no response no alarm no lights not even dome still not surprised I know battery is junk now and I never let it charge so I'm not confused. Then we try to jump and even with cables on I get NOTHING. Now I am a little confused but ok. I will get a new battery. Now the problem I buy a new battery and check my main 40amp and 80amp fuses(their Ok) I install new battery and still nothing, no headlights no dome lights nothing. So the obvious question is what the hell. I KNOW car is mechanically sound it was running when I parked the only issue and I knew it was is the battery. So I have a feeling since I am getting no power anywhere there is a kill switch or something that flipped when battery completely died. I will dispel the obvious. The battery is good I checked. It is installed correctly. Kill switch reset? I don't know help me out.

FIX STARTER   ANSWER: Ok let's start by saying the Honda civic did not
and does not have an alarm with a remote supplied
by the "factory". The alarm was likely installed
prior to your getting the car. Could have been put in
at the dealership as an option, or was put in there
as a catch for sales. In any case, it's after market.

Look around under dash for a valet/override switch,
possibly push button, or a toggle type.
When found try,

key on just before cranking,
press and hold in the button for up to
5 seconds or, until you get a response from
your siren, & lights.

Then key off. This should be reset.
Try to start it.

If it's a toggle type switch found,
key on, flip switch in opposite direction,
key off. This would be override.
Try and start the car.

Repeat these steps to go back into
arming mode when ready.

At this point, you can remove and repair the
wiring if you like, or replace with something you know
how to use from the start.

QUESTION: The factory alarm factor is semantics it is a add on alarm offered by honda and was installed before the car was bought brand new. I know this because their have only been 2 owners my mother and myself. That aside I will look into what you have said. What I don't understand is once I replaced the battery why would the alarm not sound and why am I getting no power to anywhere in the vehicle. Would the add on alrm cause this problem to begin with and should i be focusing my attention in this area alone. Basically I need to know if this alarm would cause the events I have described or not? it seems unusual to me that the alarm would cause a stoppage of power to ALL segments of the vehicle? I appreciate the answer you provided and will try the remedies. Any follow up would be appreciated.

Well ok, if installed with a starter kill relay inline and
it separates the starter wire when locked/armed, that's
all it would do. There would be a siren, and flashing parking
light outputs, but that is the extent of a simple car alarm.

It would NOT eliminate all power to the vehicle cluster, dash
or lighting. Just the starter wire is separated. So you
may have to go into more than the alarm to solve this.
The alarm may simply be reacting to a bigger issue.
