Car Alarms: Car alarm reset, car alarm system, code alarm

I have a 1998 Honda Civic with an aftermarket Elite 1100 car alarm system installed. I lost remote to system so i've ordered a new Code Alarm remote. I have programmed new remote and it does arm/disarm the  module inside car, and led light clicks/lights up accordingly just as old remote did. so i am arming and disarming just like normal. my problem is that my car alarm horn is disconnected because it will not stop going off. i can reconnect it and disarm alarm and horn will not stop but module inside clicks off and LED light stops blinking like it is disarmed. but horn keeps going. And the main problem is my car will not start at all. So it seems my car alarm is not disarming. Am i forgetting something, is there anything else to try to get this to reset and disarm correctly.

I suggest you contact the company who sold you
the remote for clarity on this system. It seems to
be in panic mode and needs a resetting.

I can not speak to the Elite functions
and resetting information, so contacting
the same folks you bought it from is a next
logical step.
