Car Alarms: 2001 SUBARU FORESTER ALARM & KEYLESS ENTRY NOT WORKING, subaru forester, dash light

Question
2001 SUBARU FORESTER S WAS LEFT SITTING FOR 2 WEEKS. WHEN STARTED AFTER THAT PERIOD OF TIME FORESTER SEEMED LIKE BATTERY WAS LOW, ALSO THE SECURITY SYSTEM DASH LIGHT WAS BLINKING (2 FAST BLINKS ABOUT EVERY SECOND). THE BATTERY WAS REMOVED, CHARGED & FORESTER NOW STARTS NORMALLY. FOR WHAT EVER REASON THE ALARM & KEYLESS ENTRY DOSE NOT WORK ANYMORE.

THIS PROBLEM HAS NEVER SHOWED IN THE PAST, THE FORESTER IS LEFT FOR UP TO 30 DAYS 4 TO 5 TIMES A YEAR, THIS PROBLEM HAS NEVER HAPPENED BEFORE.

COULD IT BE THE ALARM WAS TRIGGERED WHILE SITTING?

Answer
Yes. OEM/Factory alarm systems are limited in triggers and
only would go off if it detected a battery spike either way.
In this case it reacted to the drain and triggered.

You may need to reprogram the remote that came with it
since it lost battery. Try www.programyourremote.com to see
if you can self correct.

Good luck.
