Car Alarms: Viper Car Alarm, ford crown vic, 2008 ford crown vic

I have a 2008 Ford Crown Vic with a Viper alarm/remote starter professionally installed.  After the system was installed I was 10 miles away from the dealer when all indicator lights on the car's dash illuminated, the speedometer, water temp and oil gauges went to zero.  Only the gas gauge works.
Seldom does the dash function properly and when it does it's only for a short period of time before I have the problem again.  The authorized Viper dealer/installer has looked at the alarm and can find nothing wrong.  If I disconnect the alarm system, the dash functions properly.
