Car Alarms: dead car, car alarm installation, dead car

My daughter has an 01 cougar. The other day it stalled on her.She went to start it nothing happened made no sounds at all.Had it towed to my house.My neighbor is VW mechanic he wiggled some fuses around and it started.We took it for a ride.Soon as we got back he noticed the light for alarm on dash was acking up.Soon as we stopped it shut down.Next day started right up and is still starting just afraid to let her take it anywhere. Any ideas

Have this inspected at a local car alarm installation shop.
"wiggled" wiring should not reset or do anything differently
if installed right.

Also this car has a transponder in the ignition switch which if faulty,
would require Mercury/Ford to fix or repair.

Best to nail this down ASAP to avoid a major issue
for your daughter.
