Car Alarms: Silencer alarm has messed with all the electronics, Toyota Tacoma, engine immobilizer, keyless entry system

Question
Hi,

I have a 2007 Toyota Tacoma that has a remote keyless entry system with engine immobilizer. In addition, the dealership from which I purchased my truck added a Silencer alarm, in which Silencer fob must be near the truck in order for it to start (two fobs, so annoying).

Today, the alarm started going off for no apparent reason, and it cannot be quieted unless the key is in the ignition. The car refuses to start. The electronics are all messed up, in that the lights are dimmly blinking randomly and the radio will not turn on. The power locks barely work.

I have tried to use the valet switch to reset the alarm, and I have tried multiple different methods by which to disarm the Silencer system (a series of pressing turning the key on and off and waiting 10 sec, as per the Silencer owners manual that I found online). We tried waiting awhile before trying all of the above, to no avail.

We've disconnected the horn so we don't have to leave the keys in the car... otherwise the entire neighborhood will be up. I have no idea how to troubleshoot this in order to figure out what happened, and no amount of googling has helped us shut the thing up and start the car (thankfully its at a family member's home!).

Any help would be much appreciated.

Answer
This comes up allot!

So to tackle this issue,
I have designed a web site with
this very situation in mind.

Since providing this kind of data
online and openly for all to read
is not a good idea, and can lead to misuse,
I have designed a website that offers
disarm, disable or, removal data direct
to the owner of the vehicle by email.

That way I have a trail in case the
information is found to be used in
an attempted theft.

We can do that for you too.
Go to www.REMOVESECURITY.com
to aquire information on removing
your alarm system.

Good luck with it.
