Car Alarms: car alarms, 2005 nissan altima, nissan altima

Question
I have a 2005 Nissan Altima with a car alarm activated under the steering column. The key, remote and alarm disc are lost.
According to the dealer, the alarm system is no longer available. Therefore, I need to spend $200 to disable the alarm, $123.00 for the remote, $49.00 for the programming and $25.00 for the key. Also, I have to tow the car there! Can I remove the alarm system and just use a key to unlock the door and start the car?
