Car Alarms: Problem with my car alarm, 2006 toyota camry, valet mode

QUESTION: I have a 2006 Toyota camry, last night I tried entering the car and I got no response from my keyless alarm beeper, I was not able to switch off the alarm so that I could enter the car. I replaced the battery on the beeper but it did not help, I used my secondary beeper and it still did not help, I check the alarm fuse and it was ok. to start the car I had to put it in valet mode. right now I am not protected by the alarm system can you please let me know what are the probable cause?
