Car Alarms: car alarm, toyota corolla, wire battery

2003 Toyota Corolla S...Alarm was going off as battery was going bad and I disconnected alarm by the alarm wire.  Battery is now replaced, I reconnected alarm but now the car will not start nor will any electrical work.  How do I reset the alarm so car will work?
