Car Alarms: fob wont disable car alarm, pontiac firebird formula, vehicle security system

Question
I have a GM Goodwrench Vehicle Security system model LBL0561 installed on my 95 pontiac firebird formula.  I bought a fob Model #10205241 on ebay and programmed it via the users manual for the car. The new fob locks and unlocks the doors and the trunk release button works fine. The problem is the unlock button won't disable the car alarm when i push it so i cannot start the car because of the VATS system.  The original remote works fine. How can I program the new remote to disable the alarm?  Thanks!

Answer
That key should have programmed if you did the method correctly.
I do not have the sequence, but the whole idea of programming a resistor key
is so that the VATS is overridden when incerted.

Yours is only half way done,

I'd contact the seller for clarity.
If no joy, either go elsewhere, or take the VATS
off line and then don't worry about the keys.

I don't think you have it programmed right.
