Car Alarms: 2001 chevy impala factory alarm, gm passlock, chevy impala

Question
My car information board shows a security message at certain times , sometimes when the doors are left unlocked and one goes to start the car. When this security message shows the car will not start and the gas is disabled. I was mostly wondering if the alarm is going if theres a way to disengage the alarm?

Answer
Yes sir. I understand your issue all too well.
That is the Classic & #1 complaint here. :>(

Your Vehicle Has The GM's PASSLOCK 2
fuel rail Immobilizer/cut off system.
You will likely need a PLJX bypass kit.

It matches the resistance level in the key switch
and allows for the fuel rail to engage with any key
you choose to use. See details on the site.

I wish there was an easy way to magically get it to
work without it, but this is what we have available
short of paying GM a bunch of cash to reset
a system that will likely need it again, and again.
That's if you can locate a GM service dept.
in the next couple of years! :>(

I'd bypass it and go from there with an after market
alarm to pick up the slack. Then no GM PASSLOCK II issues to
worry about down the line.

Any good technician can install this item in less then an 2 hours.
Take it to a reputable stereo, car alarm/remote starter installer,
or, we can guide you through it here once purchased.

If the vehicle's engine tries to crank, but does NOT engage/

THIS IS OPTIONAL (BUT SUGGESTED BUY OUR TECHNICAL STAFF!!!!)

(This is for the above situation!)
If your vehicle's battery needs to be removed for
service at any time, you will need to reprogram
your bypass kit!

To avoid this eventuality, we suggest you install the
optional bypass backup battery for 14.95
so that the PASSLOCK II BYPASS module keeps powered,
and programmed during the servicing of the vehicle.
(For up to 4 days!)

cost of the Backup Battery Kit:

before it will crank over on it's own, you need the PLJX bypass kit
by itself. 64.95.
