Car Alarms: car alarm, chevy malibu, vantage point

Question
I have a 06 Chevy malibu and have had problems with the alarm ever since I got it.  The problem is sometimes when I go to start the car I will rotate the key in the ignition, everything turns on, but the as I rotate the ignition to start all power is cut and the state then does not engage.  I have swapped out multiple control units and have wasted thousands of dollars on this problem.  What's weird is that it will work fine for days, weeks, and sometimes months but when this happens it takes me about 2 hours of just locking and unlocking the car in a series of different ways and it then works.  Every time is different it not like there is a combination but it happened to me this morning and i have not been able to get it to work. Please help!

Answer
That's not unusual for the 06+ Malibu.
It has a terrible design for the PASSKEY 3 system
you have there. But at this point, since you've replaced
the pieces and parts already, bypassing the PASSKEY 3
transponder ignition system may not work.

Sadly, you've changed out the parts to the point
that I would need to inspect it to see first hand
your "ghost in the machine" as it were.

I come at this from a remote starter point of view,
but that applies to original equipment.
No telling what was done from my vantage point.

If you do want to try a bypass, you would also
need a remote starter to control it in this car.
Very difficult to simply "disable it".

If you want to go for it, the PKUMUX -
Chrysler Gen2 & GM PK3+ Transponder Bypass w/ MUX output
bypass kit with a simple remote starter would run
you 159.95 + shipping in my shop.

I hope this helps to fix the issue, but again
can't guaranty it would with all the changes made.
