Car Alarms: Pursuit model Pro 9232a problem, 2006 honda civic, door locks

Question
I have a Pursuit model Pro 9232a car alarm installed on my 2006 Honda Civic by the dealer. Lately, the alarm system has been acting erratically. Sometimes when I lock the car with my key remote, the door locks but it seems the alarm system does not arm as the LED does not flash and no chirp. When I unlock the car with my key remote, it triggers the alarm and could not be stopped by re-pressing the key remote. I've replaced the battery in my key remote and is getting the same response. What could be wrong with the alarm? thanks

Answer
There are now 3 alarms in your car.
The first 2 are from Honda. One part in a horn
honking, headlight flashing system. The other is
the transponder override system in the ignition key.
The 3rd is the Pursuit.

It appears you are experiencing a conflict between the
after market & factory systems.

If using the Pursuit remote, the OEM system would need to
disarm at the same time you disarm the after market.

This is usually done when the locks unlock and arms
the OEM system when it locks the doors.

If conflicting, the Honda system may "think" it's being
breached, and triggers it.

So we have 3 separate and functioning systems here.

Best solution is to NEVER use the key in the door lock
cylinder and relying on the Pursuit system remote ONLY.
You should also locate and learn how to use the
Pursuit's valet button. It sounds right now
as if the alarm (Pursuit) is in override.

This would also explain the "other" ways that the
"alarm" (Honda) is being triggered.
I suspect that there is no siren going off here,
so you need to take ANY HONDA remote and park
or NOT use at all.

Use the Pursuit remotes only.

look into that and let me know.
