Car Alarms: 97 HONDA NO SIGNS OF LIFE, dash area, signs of life

GOT INTO MY 97 HONDA ACCORD THIS MORNING TO GO TO WORK AND IT EXHIBITED NO SIGNS OF LIFE. NOTHING HAPPENED WHEN I TRIED TO START IT, EXCEPT A TAPPING SOUND FROM UNDER THE HOOD. THIS TAPPING CONTINUED EVEN AFTER I REMOVED THE KEY & GOT OUT OF THE CAR. THE SOUND WOULD STOP IF I PUSHED THE REMOTE FOR THE ALARM/KEYLESS ENTRY, BUT WOULD START AGAIN AS SOON AS I RELEASED THE BUTTON. TRIED SEVERAL TIMES TO START CAR WITH NO RESULTS. ONLY GOT TAPPING NOISE THAT WOULDN'T STOP UNLESS I HAD MY DOOR OPEN. WHILE WAITING IN THE HOUSE FOR MY HUSBAND TO ARRIVE TO HELP ME, THE ALARM WENT OFF, SIREN GOING, LIGHTS FLASHING,DASH LIGHTS ALL LIT UP. PUSHED REMOTE TO STOP ALARM, TRIED TO START CAR, NO SIGNS OF LIFE. DEAD AS A DOORNAIL. LOUD TAPPING NOISE COMING FROM UNDER HOOD AGAIN. LEFT CAR DOOR OPEN TO STOP NOISE, WENT BACK IN HOUSE. HAPPENED AGAIN, ALARM GOING OFF, LIGHTS FLASHING, DASH LIT UP. I GO BACK OUT, STOP NOISE, TRY TO START CAR, NOTHING HAPPENS EXCEPT THAT LOUD TAPPING COMING FROM UNDER THE HOOD. BEGINNING TO THINK CAR IS POSSESSED. HUSBAND FINALLY ARRIVES HOME AND CAR STARTS RIGHT UP...NOW I KNOW THE CAR IS POSSESSED! BY THE WAY, CAR BATTERY IS LESS THAN A YEAR OLD. DROVE CAR TO AUTO ZONE WHERE I BOUGHT BATTERY, IT TESTED FINE, AS DID STARTER. I THINK THE ALARM IS THE PROBLEM. I BOUGHT THE CAR USED IN 99 & THE ALARM WAS ALREADY ON IT. IT'S NOT FACTORY INSTALLED. I TRIED TO DISARM CAR ALARM, BUT IT REARMS ITSELF. I DO KNOW HOW TO DISARM IT, BUT I WANT IT TOTALLY DISCONNECTED. IS THIS SOMETHING MY HUSBAND CAN DO? IF SO, HOW?

Answer
Ok, an installer would place the velet switch in a semi
hidden area. I'd look under the dash area
for a button or, a toggle switch. When you locate it,
turn on the ignition key, press and hold in the
button (little spring loaded micro button, red or
black possibly), until the alarm chirps 1 time.
This should over ride the system, and only the
keyless entry part, if installed, would still be
operating.

The LED (light emiting diode) light in the dash
should also go on solid.=VALET/OVERIDE

This stops the alarm except for the keyless
entry if installed. Once in Valet mode,
it will allow the car to start and operate
like there was no alarm at all.

The next step is if wanting to remove it,
you contact a local technician to
locate it, and affect neccesary service
for you.

That should solve the troubles.
