Car Alarms: Passlock, passlock 2, olds alero

Question
About 6 months ago I bypassed the passlock system in my wife's 2002 Olds Alero after her getting stuck multiple times having to sit for 10-15 min to reset the system. I bypassed it by installing a toggle switch on the small yellow wire coming from the ignition switch. This has worked great with no repeat episodes of her being stranded. Here's the problem that just began. It was sitting in the garage, unoccupied, no key in it, doors locked (with factory keyless remote# and the lights #parking and head) began dimly flashing. This was similar to the way the flash when you lock the doors with the remote, but the horn wasn't honking and the lights were dimmer. This car is factory equipped with auto head lights. My wife has told me the lights have also flashed while driving. She tried activating and deactivating the passlock bypass while driving when the lights began flashing with no change. I'm beginning to think our keyless entry system is going bad. Can you give me some direction on this. Do I need to have a new keyless system installed?  Thank you for your time and consideration on this matter.

Answer
I am thinking that the jury rigged ignition finally is seeing
a resistor variable above 5% tolerance and is reporting same.
If I am right, it will start failing you shortly.

We do this differently here for the very reason
you are writing me. The trouble is that no resistor
value is being read at the sensor in the ignition
switch and is starting to see this as a breach.

Try the PLJX kit instead to self regulate
the PASSLOCK 2 and keep it in a "confusion loop."

This would then keep passlock offline and allow
the wife to breathe a bit better afterwards. Works great.
