Car Alarms: Ultra Start KE-4 Failed After Battery Jump, nissan xterra, installation sequence

Question
Hello,

The previous owner of my 2000 Nissan Xterra had an Ultra Start KE-4 installed and the remotes stopped working yesterday after the battery died. I followed the transmitter reset and installation sequence in the manual (ignition on-off-on-off-on-off-on-off, press lock for 5 seconds) but the parking lights did not flash as promised. When this has happened in the past, I have taken it to the shop where it was installed, but I don't live close to it anymore so it's not an option right now. I watched them fix it last time and I think I remember the guy saying my system doesn't have a valet switch. I think all he did was follow the sequence in the manual but it doesn't do anything when I try. Manual also says something about entering and exiting service mode by pressing the program button on the antenna for 5 seconds. Where is this antenna located? Would appreciated any advice. Thank you!

Answer
Look on the windshield for the antenna.
The "Valet" override and programming button is inset into
it. Your's may also contain 2 blue LED lights that flash
depending on mode your are in (alarm/remote start wise).

The follow the step procedure to
program new transmitter in the book.

can also go to www.ultrastarters.com for
some assistance.

Good luck.
