hello last night i was in my home and suddenly heard my cars security system going off.. i wasn't sure if there was an intruder that tried to open the vehicle or what but there was no presence of an attempt to break in at least from what i can see. the alarm was going off and i used the key fob and pressed lock unlock then lock and it stopped. then suddenly my garage door opened,which was very weird but i thought perhaps there was some explanation for all of this. my questio is is something wrong with the actuall security system, or something more simple like a dying battery in my key fob..as for why the garage door opened when i stopped the car alarm... i have no idea...any answers would be greatly appreciated

It's likely the older the alarm, the more
chance the signal it generates can also control another
device like your garage door opening. It's rare, but can happen.

Hard to say for sure, but that has been known to
happen in the past. Not allot you can do about it
short of replacing the alarm system with an after market
that has code hopping technology.
