Car Alarms: Car shuts itself off because of alarm, weird mode, reply asap

Question
I have a scytek vectra x55 series alarm with remote start. Last night I tried to remote start my car, but my car did not start up, but it put it in a weird mode.  Now when i try to start my car it turns on for a few seconds then shuts its self off. On my dash board a light that shoes a car with a lock over it is on when I start my car. I think this means my alarm is still activated.  I think my alarm is shutting of my car as a security feature.  I tried doing the system reset that was in the manual that came with the alarm. Please reply ASAP.  My car is in a random parking lot.

Answer
it's not the Vectra. It's the vehicle's own security system.
If Chevy, it's passlock/passkey/VATS.
If it's any other car manufacturer, it's going to
be a transponder in the ignition.

This sounds like either there was a bad bypass kit
installed, none at all, or it lost power and
lost it's programming. Either way, the vehicle
is telling you it did not like it.

What make model & year vehicle?
