Car Alarms: Set Sidewinder for 45 days, trickle charge, shock sensor

Question
I have a Sidewinder 5000 (just basic system with shock sensor in doors) in my Chevrolet Silverado. I have to park my truck long term for about 45 days. Is that too long? Will the alarm cause the battery to drain down and set it off? I don't want to get in hot water with the neighbors. My battery is charged and in good condition. Thanks

Answer
It will drain the battery if left connected and powered
for that period of time for sure.

If you have the chance to keep a battery
charger on it in trickle charge, do that.
If not, unplug the alarm brain box until you return.
Hopefully it will be in a secure area while you are
gone.

45 days is too much to ask from a battery that
has a constant source pulling power.

Good luck.
