Car Alarms: 98 Mustang GT Alarm Problems, alarms system, alarmtek

Question
Hello, I have recently been having problems with my 1998 Ford Mustang GT Convertible alarms system. Anytime I try to open up the doors with my keys, the alarm goes off, horn honking and lights flashing and what not, which in turn does not allow me to start my car. The only way I can disable the alarm is by disconnecting the battery and making sure the car is unlocked. After doing this, I can enter my car and turn my car on and it will start up. I know there are two parts to fords stock anti theft systems, the PATS and the door alarms. Im guessing its the door alarms that are malfunctioning. Is there any way to fix this or disable the door alarms? Thanks.

Answer
Hmmmm, Likely to be factory if it's the car's own horn honking.
However, if it's a siren and flashing lights, it's after market.

Ok, here's what I know...

Normally, putting the key in the drivers side door lock,
turning to the left, then to the right all the way
will unlock and disarm/reset the "OEM factory"
alarm system.

If wanting more detail on disabling this system,
please go to the WIREWERX so I can get you the
info you require to fix your situation.

Good luck with this issue.
