Car Alarms: AstroStart Remote chirps for no reason, 2007 toyota highlander, toyota highlander

I have an AstroStart RSS-2524 that was professionally installed in a 2007 Toyota Highlander.

The unit seems to work fine since it was installed about 5 months ago, but occasionally the remote makes 5 to 7 random chirps and the green light flashes. This might occur when the car is locked and running (e.g, it's warming up in the parking lot) or it might occur when the car is shut off in a locked garage.

Any suggestions on what might be happening or how to troubleshoot this would be appreciated... and Happy Holidays!
