QuestionI have a Viper 550 (I think 550hf) and want to add the DEI 450t channel expander. I must use the channel 3 output (white/blue wire) from my 550 to do so.
However activating channel 3 activates the remote start function of the 550. So this would mean every time I want to use a one of 6 channels from the 450t I would be remote starting my car! How do I deactiavate the remote start function so I can use the 450t as intended. I would like to designate the remote start function as channel 6 for example on the 450t.
This is the idea I have thought of...The 550's remote start works via a secondary harness which sends outputs to a heavy gauge starter relay. This harness contains negative outputs to ignition/accessories/starter in the relay. Do I cut these wires and join them to a negative output from the 450t...so effectively the output comes from the 450t and not the 550? If this is the case do I simply join the three wires to a single output from the 450t? That is...do the ignition/accessories/starter all work on an "instant" negative output to the relay?
