Car Alarms: Pursuit alarm in 01 mx-5, double din head unit, shock sensor

Question
I'm planning on installing an after market double din head unit in my '01 mx-5. But it has a pursuit security system in it and I'm assuming if I disconnect the battery it will set the alarm off endlessly or worse. I cannot seem to find the model number and only know its pursuit due to the stickers on the window. I've found an Audiovox shock sensor(model AS-9492) under the steering column. There is very limited space seeing as its a tiny roadster and I'm having trouble locating the box to find the model number so I can get a manual and turn it off while I do my audio install. My question being: do I even need to worry about disconnecting the battery, and if so where should I look for the pursuit box. Or if I find it is there just a switch to flip until I re-connect the battery?
