Car Alarms: 2009 nissan sentra steering wheel lock, nissan sentra, vacation auto

Question
I recently purchased a 2009 Nissan Sentra and drove it to Texas. It worked just fine, but this morning I went to start the car and it won't start. I called around to find out why it wouldn't and I was told that it was locked up. I don't know if it had an anti theft device installed on it because I purchased it through a former coworker who I can no longer contact. Is there a way to release it or reset it? It doesn't seem to be anything wrong with the engine or at least I hope not because I had the car checked and serviced before my drive to Texas. I need to get back home to California so any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
