Car Alarms: setting alarm to valet, valet mode, toyota dealership

I have a Toyota 4-runner with a security alarm. I would like to know how to disable my alarm or set it to valet. We are unable to get in the car without disabling the alarm using our remote. We live in the country and would like to be able to get in the car without disabling the alarm each time, if we get out to get gas we have to disable the alarm before we can get in. We asked our local Toyota dealership for help but they said there was nothing we could do to lower the level of security of our alarm. when we purchased our car used from a local garage the alarm was disabled or in valet mode. After they purchased a second key witha remote access fob????? the security was set to active. After we had the car for a while the alarm suddenly stopped working. After some service by a Toyota dealership and a reset of the cars computer, the security was back to super security and has been that way ever since. It is very annoying and I would like to activate it only when I thought it was needed, like a trip to the city.
