Car Alarms: Toyota Scion XA car alarm, toyota scion, scion xa

Question
When I was exiting the supermarket the other day the car alarm was sounding off.  I had originally had the alarm shut off but now have lost the instructions. The alarm keeps going off dashboard blinks as well as headlights with that all too familiar high pitched sound. There is a button along the left side below the dashboard I keeep pressing it but its not turning off. I know the button is for the alarm the car dealer told me it was the alarm switch please help. Hmmmm,
Make sure you do the procedure correctly.
Might have missed a step:

PUT IGNITION KEY IN IGNITION,
KEY ON TO JUST BEFORE CRANKING THE ENGINE.
PRESS IN AND HOLD VALET SWITCH
UNTIL YOU GET A RESPONCE
FROM THE ALARM.

KEY OFF.

This should toggle the alarm in and out of
valet/override.

If toggle type switch.
KEY ON, FLIP SWITCH, KEY OFF,
START THE CAR.

I hope this solved it for you.

or repair.
