Car Alarms: vats pass key etc, pontiac firebird, security light

i have a 1991 Pontiac firebird with the vats well the other day i drove my car home it was fine i go to take it to work and nothing all lights radio everything comes on turn the key nothing happens. so I'm pretty sure the vats in the ignition went bad. but I'm not getting no security light like i normally would it don't come on at all. it don't flash stay on or nothing. is their anything els that would cause no security light and no cranking

Yep. You hit the nail on the head. I am surprized the
VATS sensor in the ignition lasted this long!

Look at www.GMVATS.com and sellect the 79.95 option found
there.

That will get the engine to start and the ability to
keep PASSLOCK/VATS engaged with little battery drain.

Not uncommon.
