Car Alarms: anti-theft, 12 volt, honks

Question
The battery was dead, so I replaced it.  Now, when I start it, the horn honks and lights flash while it is running.  Also, the remotes do not appear to work even after replacing their batteries.  Any info you can provide would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks.
