Car Alarms: Alarm Problem, toyota 4runner, auto responder

I have a 1997 Toyota 4Runner cylinders 2 wheel drive power lock,power window and has a factory alarm and i need to bypass the security system to start the vehicle. I have tried cycling key 5 times and the led comes on and stays on for about 7 seconds goes off but nothing what should I do?
