Car Alarms: Car alarm ford mondeo 1998, ford mondeo 1998, hot weather

I have just bought this car second hand and the alarm keeps going off. Its sounds like the alarm is 'dying'. The man i brought it from says it goes off in hot weather and when the radio has been on. Can i just disconnect it altogether, including horn noise and lights?
