Car Alarms: PASSKEY III, pontiac montanna, passkey iii

Question
We have a 2001 Pontiac Montanna.  After accidentally trying to start the vehicle with a Murano key the Montanna refused to start!  We thought it was the battery and replaced that with no luck.  We also had the battery connectors replaced and again, no luck.  Tried boosting it many times as well with the same result.  I have heard something about the Passkey II being able to be disabled but this vehicle has the Passkey III.  Is there any way for us to disable or bypass the Passkey III without taking it into a dealership and/or spending a fortune on it?  We are looking for a cheap yet effective fix.  Thanks.

Answer
Wish there was a good way to get that done, but not
really on the PASSKEY III system.

The way to do this is to make a service appointment
at PONTIAC/GM, have them use the interogator scan tool to
reset the PASSKEY III so that it starts the car,
THEN bypass it using the following kit:

IB-UGM - GM Passkey Transponder Bypass [Immobilizer Bypass]
Transponder Bypass: RF override via induction
w/ loop antenna (transponder incl. no key required)
89.95 at my shop.

Installing this would then remove PASSKEY III
from the equation.

The relay application to do this other then that way is
a total nightmare.

I wish I had an easier way, but yell at GM,
I'm just the mnessenger :>(

Good luck.
