Car Alarms: car wont start, acura vigor, valet mode

Question
QUESTION: i went to open the driver door on my 92 acura vigor and the alarm went off. i got in the driver seat and put the key in the ignition 2 shut it off, after i did that my car wouldnt start. i went under the hood to try n disconnet the battery and let it sit for awhile to see if the alarm would reset itself but that didnt work either. i went to the passenger side and under the foot area and replaced the relay to see if that was the problem but that wasnt it either. i tried lockin the doors and holding the key to the lock postion for 30 seconds but that still didnt work. i cant find the kill switch or code or something to tell me how to reset it as well. pleaseeee helpp

Car Alarms: car wont start, acura vigor, valet mode
VALET
ANSWER: Ok, an installer would place the velet switch in a semi
hidden area. I'd look under the dash area
for a button or, a toggle switch. When you locate it,
turn on the ignition key, press and hold in the
button (little spring loaded micro button, red or
black possibly), until the alarm chirps 1 time.
This should over ride the system, and only the
keyless entry part, if installed, would still be
operating.

The LED (light emiting diode) light in the dash
should also go on solid.=VALET/OVERIDE

This stops the alarm except for the keyless
entry if installed. Once in Valet mode,
it will allow the car to start and operate
like there was no alarm at all.

The next step is if wanting to remove it,
you contact a local technician to
locate it, and affect neccesary service
for you.

That should solve the troubles.

Let me know what you discover.

QUESTION: ok and another quick question, i have a 6 disc cd changer in my trunk that was hooked up to the radio but the radio doesnt work. I unhooked the disc changer that wouldnt have nothing to do with the alarm would it? Like for the car not starting and since the light for the alarm is on the radio could that possibley be the reason also or no?

Answer
Yes it's a coded head unit. when pulled and powered down,
would also kick in the security fuel cut off.

But not an audio guy. I think
you need to re power it and enter the code.
(might be imprinted on it on a small plate)
but not certain.

Try Robert in the Forum to see if he
can shed some light on this.
