Car Alarms: 2008 Mustang Wont Start, ford owners, security button

Question
My 2008 mustang had its battery completely drain while we were out of town for week (GPS left plugged in). I charged it but now it won't turn over. I have already reprogrammed the remote (8 turns of on/off then hit unlock on remote), but the car will not turn over. Everything else works fine (lights, horn, radio, etc.) and battery is fully charged.

The security button flashes slowly until I put in the key and then it goes into rapid mode. How do I reset the alarm? Someone told me to go two it to the dealer, but that would be an insane practice every time you have to replace the batter!

Answer
Maybe, but that's Ford "better idea" You do indeed need to reset the PATS system
at Ford. However, once you do, you can certainly bypass the PATS for good
with the right bypass kit (PKFM) and backup battery (www.FORDPATS.com)

That's how allot of Ford owners deal with this issue.

I know it's dumb. Yell at Ford.
I just report the news and provide solutions
where poss.

Good luck.
