Car Alarms: 1998 camry, valet mode, flip switch

i have a 98 camry and cant seem to reset alarm. i turn ignition over 5 times and get 1 chirp or beep from alarm which i understand is valet mode. from that point i unerstand i should be able to start car but not so. im getting no spark

Make sure you do the procedure correctly.
Might have missed a step:

PUT IGNITION KEY IN IGNITION,
KEY ON TO JUST BEFORE CRANKING THE ENGINE.
PRESS IN AND HOLD VALET SWITCH
UNTIL YOU GET A RESPONCE
FROM THE ALARM.

KEY OFF.

This should toggle the alarm in and out of
valet/override.

If toggle type switch.
KEY ON, FLIP SWITCH, KEY OFF,
START THE CAR.
