Car Alarms: TDS Toyota Camry 1996 Cannot Start, replacement remotes, toyota camry

Question
Dealer installed TDS in Toyota Camry purchased in Houston in 1996. Brand is probably Audiovox but not sure.

I have been manually locking and unlocking the car with the ignition key from the drivers side door and not using the alarm.

After our snowstorm here in Oklahoma City the car battery was dead. I replaced the battery with a new battery and the car would not start. The horn honked once and the red led light came on steady red. The ignition makes no noise when I try to start the car. The headlights and horn do not work. Changing the position of the valet toggle switch turns the red led on and off but the car will still not start. The battery tested fully charged before installation.

How can I deactivate the alarm and restart my car?

Thanks

Alrighty,
You'll need to set off the alarm for a few seconds.
Then, turn on the ignition
key, press and hold in the button
until the alarm chirps 1 time. This should over ride
the system, and only the keyless entry part,
if installed, would still be operating.
The LED (light emiting diode) light in the dash
should also go on solid.

At this point. the alarm would have reset.
If this had a starter kill relay installed,
it would now be opened, and the engine would
turn over when tried. This is override/reset.

You would repeat these steps to go back to
user mode but in your case, I'd leave it this
way until you can either get replacement
remotes or, replace the alarm with one
you know and understand how it operates for
the best overall experience (suggested!).

Let me know what you discover
& if you want to upgrade to a
better system.
