Car Alarms: Car alarm wont shut off in cold weather, car alarm, cold weather

Question
More specifically...I found out I had a dead battery this morning. I started to jump the battery from my wifes vehicle and the car alarm wouldnt shut off. I have a key actuator...whereas i can lock and unlock the vehicle while simultaneously activate and disengage the car alarm respectively. However, this morning, I wasnt able to deactivate the car alarm when I had transferred enough energy from my wifes battery. Do you think there wasnt enough of a "surface charge" to the battery to send enough energy to the car alarm to deactivate it or do you think it has something to do more with the cold weather? Additionally, with the car alarm activated and not being able to be disengaged, would that have something to do with the truck not starting?

Thanks...Michael
