Car Alarms: 99 Camaro - alarm, alram, exact question

Hi, I was reading on this site and i found my exact question back in 2007...Question
I recently purchased a 1999 camaro. When i bought it the alarm system worked just fine. but when i got it home, i went to use to lock the doors with the remote and when i hit the lock button instead of hearing the standard single beep, there where two consecutive beeps. and as i was walking away the alarm went off for no reason. now every time i lock the doors with the remote or by pressing the lock button inside the car, the alarm goes off about 5 seconds after. if anyone can help me please contact me. thanks.

The lights do not go off when this happens or anything else...the horn simply beeps 2x.

Is this an alarm problem? Can I fix the problem by disabling the alram? If so how do i do that?
