Car Alarms: Silverado alarm, flip switch, chevrolet silverado

Question
I recently had a 2006 Chevrolet Silverado towed. A couple of days later i went to pick up the truck. I left the tow co. with the truck and when i got home realized that my FACTORY alarm was not working correctly. Whenever i started the truck, the horn would honk once. Also, when i press the lock button on the alarm remote, the doors would lock but the alarm would not activate. Also the alarm does not go off at all, so basically its just useless now. I've tried the button under the dash for the alarm, but no luck. Any ideas? PLEASE HELP!!

Answer
Hmmmm,
Make sure you do the procedure correctly.
Might have missed a step:

PUT IGNITION KEY IN IGNITION,
KEY ON TO JUST BEFORE CRANKING THE ENGINE.
PRESS IN AND HOLD VALET SWITCH
UNTIL YOU GET A RESPONCE
FROM THE ALARM.

KEY OFF.

This should toggle the alarm in and out of
valet/override.

If toggle type switch.
KEY ON, FLIP SWITCH, KEY OFF,
START THE CAR.

I hope this solved it for you.
