Car Alarms: valet ezsdei4774p remote start, car alarm installer, best buys

I bought a 2004 Mountaineer and it has remote start installed on it, but I do not have a book for it.  Sometimes I can start it from a good distance, and other times you have to be right next to the car for it to start. Other times it doesn't start at all.  I put a new battery in the remote but same thing.  Help!

Take it to a local car alarm
installer (Best buys will honor DEI equippment service
agreement) to inspect the antenna on the windshield,
and the connections all the way around on the installation.

If all else is nominal, then the remote may need
to be identified, and replaced.

But start with the equipment evaluation.
