Car Alarms: Car alarm signal dying, car alarm system, dirt nap

Question
Despite my replacing batteries, my SecuriKey+ car alarm system is getting flakier by the week.  The signal that used to go 200 feet or more now barely works with the key up against the window and erratically at that.  This system works, signals loudly when disturbed and securely locks my engine as well.  My fear is that it will lock me out one day soon!  This system was installed in late 2000/early 2001.

Answer
Ok, hate to break it to ya but,
it's time to get rid of it and upgrade Bob.
The thing is just old and is about to
take a dirt nap.

Spend a couple of dollars and get
a fresh new set up with new remotes
for the next 10 years.

Have a good turkey day.
