Car Alarms: Compustar P2W9000R (2-Way 900MHz), 2005 subaru sti, valet mode

Question
QUESTION: I bought a 2005 Subaru Sti with this alarm installed in it. Ive had 0 problems with it until this winter when I decided to store the car in the garage to have some upgrades done on it during winter time. I want to take out the car battery because the cold will ruin it since it won't start for a couple of weeks. I put the car in Valet mode (It tells me to do this if I get it serviced) then I take out the battery but the alarm goes off still with no battery. Is there a backup battery somewhere? I don't know what I'm doing wrong. Is there a way to turn the alarm system completely off? Please help

ANSWER: Ok, with a fresh battery, follow this:

Make sure you do the procedure correctly.
Might have missed a step:

PUT IGNITION KEY IN IGNITION,
KEY ON TO JUST BEFORE CRANKING THE ENGINE.
PRESS IN AND HOLD VALET SWITCH
UNTIL YOU GET A RESPONCE
FROM THE ALARM.

KEY OFF.

This should toggle the alarm in and out of
valet/override.

If toggle type switch.
KEY ON, FLIP SWITCH, KEY OFF,
START THE CAR.

I hope this solved it for you.

QUESTION: Basicly my question is:
How do I take out the car battery without the alarm going all out nuts?

Answer
Easy. You can do it by adding a 9 volt
rechargable battery inline on the power
wires to the Compustar under the dash. I do not have the color
codes so you will need your manual, but
by doing it this way, you can remove the main batt.
do the work, and re install it without triggering
the compustar if put into valet mode prior to
removing it.

Leaving my office for the day.
I hope it helps.
