Car Alarms: Corolla 2000 VE car alarm problem, flip switch, car alarm

Hi,
My car was completely okay when I parked it yesterday . But, now when I open the door and try to start, the car alarm is going off and won't stop for some minutes..continue the same every time I try to start the car. I bought it some 6 months ago, and I don't have any remote or something like that!
But I had the similar problem 2 months ago and at that time, a local technician did something under the dashboard and it stopped afterwards, although he did tell me something at that time which unfortunately I don't remember now.
The thing is, I can see many things and also a small switch(ON/OFF) under the dashboard, which I tried it to OFF, but that didn't help.
Could you please help me to turn it off, so that I can drive and check with the repair center.!!
I would be grateful if you could give me step-by-step procedure to turn the alarm off ! and How can I disable it for permanently  ?

Hmmmm,
Make sure you do the procedure correctly.
Might have missed a step:

PUT IGNITION KEY IN IGNITION,
KEY ON TO JUST BEFORE CRANKING THE ENGINE.
THEN FLIP SWITCH IN OPOSITE DIRECTION, KEY OFF,
& START THE CAR.
