Car Alarms: Checkmate KD-150, valet mode, manual car

Hello. I bought a Ford car last week,and the dealer installed the KD-150. Works fine, no issues. Alarm owners manual says alarm has two modes, "Passive" and "Manual". Car is set to Passive now. Instruction book does not indicate how to switch modes. It does talk about the 'valet' mode, but that mode keeps the blue LED lit steady while the alarm is disarmed. Is that valet mode also the manual mode, or is there another way to set the thing so that the LED is off while disarmed (like my 08 Toyota). I believe the LED is also the push button on this system, is that right?
