Car Alarms: 97Jeep wrangler alarm problems, flip switch, turning the key

Question
So I removed the battery on my Jeep and the alarm reset. I did the whole process of turning the key to on and pushing the button. This did turn the alarm off,but now the little LED light is constantly solid red. Is this going to kill my battery? Also i never use my alarm ever,Is it going to re-engage? Is there a way to turn if off like before i changed the battery? I would rather leave it in..but not use it. Thanks

Answer
Make sure you do the procedure correctly.

PUT IGNITION KEY IN IGNITION,
KEY ON TO JUST BEFORE CRANKING THE ENGINE.
PRESS IN AND HOLD VALET SWITCH
UNTIL YOU GET A RESPONCE
FROM THE ALARM.

KEY OFF.

This should toggle the alarm in and out of
valet/override. But in your case, keep
it in this mode if not wanting to use it.

If toggle type switch.
KEY ON, FLIP SWITCH, KEY OFF,
START THE CAR.

I hope this solved it for you.
