Car Alarms: 1994 GM vehicle security system, vehicle security system, gm goodwrench

Question
I have a '94 Chevy truck.  The alarm button was lost so the alarm system is triggered to go off when the doors are opened.  Also, the status LED light is inoperative so the signal cannot be disabled when pushing the light (button).

How can I disarm the system?  The control box has written on it:

GM Goodwrench Vehicle Security System
E-16
LBL0561
5/93

FCC ID: GOH-052-RMTPL

The only way I can use the truck is to start out with the battery disconnected........open the door, insert the key and turn it to the "on" position.  The reconnect the battery and the truck will start without the alarm sounding.  BUT, as soon as I turn the truck off (within a minute) the alarm will reset.  So, I have to turn the truck off, disconnect the battery within the one minute to disable it.  When I want to reenter the truck, I must put the key in the ignition, turn it to the on position, reconnect the battery and I can use it one more time without the alarm sounding.

I'm afraid to completely disconnect the unit because of the amount of wiring that would have to be replaced.  What can I do to resolve this problem?  Is there any place that I can buy a new remote disarming button AND status LED light assembly?

Thanks for any help you can give me.
