Car Alarms: bmw serpi star, serpi star, bmw e36

Question
hi
i think i have the system 3 2t car alarm in my bmw e36 1995, one button fob. My siren was acting up (back up batt) so i replaced with a non back up battery one. On removing the old siren i think i shorted something out because the new one would give out no noise. I happened to have another module which i also tried but still no noise although all other functions were fine, indicators and sensors etc setting off the alarm. Could it be a blown fuse, although i have checked them, or does the siren need sync-ing to the alarm or something else and how do i fix it ?

cheers

Answer
Doubt it needs to be "synched" at all.
Meter the siren wire output from the alarm
when going off. Does this wire show
a (+) source? If not, a blown relay or
circuit burn is likely.

If it does meter 12 volts when going off, then I would
replace the siren because it's going to be one or
the other. Probably siren the output from the alarm
is fried though from past experience and discovery.
