Car Alarms: 2003 Acura RSX OEM Alarm -- Cannot Reset, acura rsx, beautiful car

So I just bought an 03 RSX from a used car lot...Its a beautiful car.  I cannot reset the Alarm system (the manual says to hold the select/indicator button while turning key to ON position until you see a blinking light...I am not able t oget the light to blink).  Is there a way to reset the alarm system, or is something broken w the car?>

Also, This car did not come with a keyless entry remote, is there a way to have one 'created' for my car?  What does that usually cost?
