Car Alarms: aftermarket car alarm., problem wit, locked doors

Question
I purchased a 1993 camero. It had a security system already installed. I got a push button remote that set alarm and locked doors. It quickly quit working and got lost before I could find out where to find a replacement. The alarm soon went off by itself and would not allow the car to stat. Of course that was in a parking lot at an inconvenient time. I pushed a very small reset button installed down on the steering column. Sometimes it would allow the car to start other times it would not. It broke off, I doddered it back on and it worked, but it is too untrustworty to use. I relegated it to the rear of te barn for a year but i would like to drive it. It is a hot little z- 28 rearing to go. How d o I fix this problem wit the security so I can drive my hot little car?

Answer
Pull the old system and replace it with a new
one with fresh remotes. This has already proven
to be unreliable, and that's already unacceptable.

At this point you will have a cascade of bad moments
if left unattended to so buck up and get something
you can rely on here.

For less than 70.00 you can acomplish this goal
and not worry about it.

This car also has the Chevy original VATS transponder
system in it, and if this is also trouble, you might want
to look into circumventing it too (www.GMVATS.com)

Good luck.
